Casita del Jardinero
The headquarters of CIFAL Málaga centre is located in a historic building (the old Casita del Jardinero), built in 1912, emblematic of the capital and located on the Paseo del Parque, one of the main arteries of the city and a must for visitors and citizens. It is located next to other significant buildings such as the Rectorate of the University of Málaga, the Bank of Spain and the historical building of Malaga City Council itself.
This palace, formerly a tourist office, has three floors and a garden dedicated to the dissemination of issues related to the UN, UNITAR and the SDGs, which can be visited by citizens and public representatives.
In the garden surrounding the building, and where the UN flag flies, a century-old Australian ficus with impressive aerial roots stands out. This space allows the organisation of cultural events and outdoor workshops with children and young people, where through various dynamics they related to SDGs and learn about how to practice them in daily life.
Until December 2019, more than 950 children, young people and members of various associations have passed through the workshops of the Casita.
Centre for Spanish-Moroccan Studies
Part of the offices of CIFAL Málaga operate in the Centre for Spanish- Moroccan Studies, in whose emblematic building a stable platform of cross-border municipal training is developed, which exchanges experiences in municipal management, thus improving the efficiency of local administrations, while promoting citizen participation and mutual knowledge of our cultures.
